I find myself with two ailing laptops, the new one two months old has succumbed to Florida’s humidity for he third time taking with it five chapters of Wall VII. I’ve found I can rewrite one lost chapter but it is impossible to rewrite half a book. Backing up is fine when it works yet for some inexplicable reason this book failed to back up on both the external HD and the cloud. I decided to skip seven and start eight..and now it too is held hostage in the bowls of the cursed machine. even worse is finding out that it is no longer possible to pop out the HD and stick it into a reader as the entire machine has to be dissembled thereby voiding the warranty…. Is it any wonder why I write dystopian novels.”.
